Professional development is defined as the verbal and tactical skills required for maintaining a specific career path or the general skills offered through continuing education, including the more general skills area of personal development. Part of training is keeping current with changing technology and practices in a profession or in the concept of lifelong learning.

Within Bertelsmann we strive to ensure you opportunities to maintain and develop a specific career path or to build general skills in order to keep current with changing technology and practices in the media/service world. We are committed to developing and retaining our talent and have established a foundation of developmental tools.

Some of these tools include the Corporate Management Development department to help guide you through the process of “Creating Your Own Career,” by giving advice, providing awareness of opportunities, creating developmental or mentoring programs and being an ad-hoc resource to connect all the dots within our organization.

Additionally, we've created Bertelsmann University to act as an educational platform on leadership, technology, and current topics on both an international and regional level.
